The tension is reaching a breaking point in the latest installment of the hit K-drama, and Phantom Lawyer Episode 6 recap is here to break down every shocking second. We start with a powerful hook: I Rang finds himself trapped behind bars, facing intense interrogation from Hyonoo. The air is thick with suspicion as I Rang claims to be Sang Ho’s lawyer, but when pressed for details, he keeps it strictly confidential, leaving Hyonoo wondering if this is all some sick joke. Meanwhile, Na Hyeon is at Tae Joon’s house, dropping a bombshell about finding Sang Ho’s handwriting in I Rang’s office. The mystery deepens as Tae Joon questions I Rang’s erratic behavior, which Na Hyeon dismisses as a mental health struggle. However, the emotional stakes skyrocket when Na Hyeon confronts Tae Joon about his wife’s illness and the rumors that he might have killed Sang Ho over failed research. This triggers a heartbreaking flashback to 17 years ago, showing Tae Joon’s once-happy family and the mysterious, incurable illness that struck Su Jung’s mother. Driven by desperation, the scientist Tae Joon hired Sang Ho to find a cure, but Sang Ho walked away, leaving a trail of unanswered questions.

The plot thickens when the autopsy report finally clears I Rang’s name—he wasn’t the killer, just the first person to find the body. After his release, a touching family reunion follows, but the peace is short-lived. I Rang’s mother, Gyeong Hwa, takes him to his office, desperate to protect him from the supernatural forces at play. She tries to destroy the protective talismans, fearing they are hurting him, but I Rang stops her. In a moment of raw honesty, he admits his guilt over Sang Ho’s anger, promising to stay calm to keep the spirits at bay. But as soon as she leaves, the ghost of Sang Ho appears, seeking an apology and a chance to speak to Su Jung. I Rang, ever the bridge between worlds, agrees to help, leading to a high-stakes meeting at the prison. Under the watchful eyes of guards—and a secret recording device planted by Do Kyung’s secretary—a supernatural possession occurs. Sang Ho takes over I Rang’s body, proving his identity to a weeping Su Jung by reciting intimate details of their first kiss and their love.

The investigation takes a viral turn as Na Hyeon and I Rang team up to find the real culprit. Through clever detective work and Sang Ho’s ghostly insights, they realize the killer is someone who knew the lab’s blind spots. The focus shifts to He Jong, a senior researcher with a dark motive involving animal cloning. In a thrilling, cinematic confrontation, I Rang and Bong Soo lure He Jong into the lab using “fake ghosts” and psychological warfare. As Sang Ho’s spirit confronts his murderer through I Rang’s body, the truth finally comes out: He Jong used a bat to kill Sang Ho to secure his own career. The police move in for the arrest, and justice is finally served. In a beautiful, emotional closing scene, Sang Ho uses I Rang’s body one last time to create the medicine that saves Su Jung’s mother before finally finding peace and disappearing as the talismans burn. But just when we think it’s over, a new, unidentified ghost enters the lab and seizes control of I Rang, leaving us on a massive cliffhanger for Episode 7.

Phantom Lawyer Episode 6 Recap

This episode is a masterclass in blending supernatural thrills with deep emotional storytelling. The revelation of the real killer was executed perfectly, keeping the audience guessing until the very last second. The chemistry between I Rang and Na Hyeon continues to grow, and the “possession” scenes are both haunting and heartbreaking. If you love K-dramas with a mix of mystery, justice, and the paranormal, Episode 6 is a viral sensation you cannot miss. The ending sets up an even bigger mystery that will have fans counting down the days until Saturday!
