Some teasers simply introduce a drama. 100 Days of Lies feels like it opens a classified file. tvN’s first teaser for the upcoming period spy romance starring Kim Yoo Jung and Park Jinyoung is short, but every frame is packed with tension, mystery, and emotional danger.

The D-100 teaser confirms that 100 Days of Lies will premiere on October 10, 2026, on tvN, with streaming available on TVING in Korea. Set in Gyeongseong during the Japanese occupation of Korea, the drama follows a gifted pickpocket who enters the heart of colonial power under a false identity — and finds herself caught in a mission where one lie could decide everything.

The Teaser Opens With a City on the Edge

The preview begins in a smoky, unsettled Gyeongseong. The streets look unstable, the air feels heavy, and soldiers appear amid crowds and confusion. Rather than starting with romance, 100 Days of Lies begins with fear. It immediately tells viewers that this is a world where people are watched, secrets are dangerous, and survival depends on staying one step ahead.

The teaser then shifts into shadowy interiors and close-ups of documents being written by hand. That single image says a lot. In this drama, paper may be as dangerous as a weapon. A forged identity, a hidden order, or one written name could change a person’s fate. The mood is quiet but tense, making the teaser feel less like a simple historical romance and more like a suspense thriller wrapped around a love story.

Kim Yoo Jung’s Lee Ga Kyung Looks Sharp, Stylish, and Impossible to Read

Kim Yoo Jung makes a powerful impression as Lee Ga Kyung, Gyeongseong’s top pickpocket. Her first moments in the teaser are built around glances — quick, alert, and full of calculation. She does not look like someone waiting to be saved. She looks like someone who has survived by reading danger before it reaches her.

One of the teaser’s most memorable images shows Ga Kyung in a red coat and black cap, turning back inside a dim hallway. It is a striking visual choice. The red coat makes her stand out in a dark world, suggesting both confidence and risk. She is hiding under a false identity, but the teaser frames her like the center of the storm.

A passport-like document also appears, hinting at escape, identity, and Ga Kyung’s desire for a life beyond the one she has been forced to live. That detail makes her mission feel personal, not just political.

Park Jinyoung Brings Mystery as Kim Tae Woong

Park Jinyoung appears as Kim Tae Woong, also known as Sato Hideo, an elite interpreter connected to the Japanese Government-General. His character enters the teaser with urgency and restraint, creating immediate curiosity about where his loyalties truly lie.

That uncertainty is the key to his chemistry with Ga Kyung. He is positioned inside the very system she must infiltrate, which makes their connection dangerous from the start. Is he an obstacle, an ally, or someone trapped between two identities? The teaser wisely refuses to answer too soon, allowing the tension between them to build.

Cast: A Strong Lineup Built for Suspense and Betrayal

Alongside Kim Yoo Jung and Park Jinyoung, 100 Days of Lies features a strong supporting cast including Kim Hyun Joo, Lee Moo Saeng, and Jin Sun Kyu. Their presence gives the drama more weight, especially because the story involves resistance, political schemes, and dangerous missions inside colonial-era Gyeongseong.

Kim Hyun Joo’s involvement hints at emotional intensity and action-driven stakes, while Lee Moo Saeng and Jin Sun Kyu are expected to add layers of political tension, power, and conflict. This is not a drama built only around romance. It looks like a larger story about trust, sacrifice, and the cost of fighting back.

Plot: A 100-Day Mission Where Love Could Become the Biggest Risk

The plot of 100 Days of Lies centers on Lee Ga Kyung, a skilled pickpocket who accepts a dangerous offer from the independence movement. Her mission is to infiltrate the Japanese Government-General for exactly 100 days while pretending to be an interpreter.

Inside this dangerous world, she meets Kim Tae Woong, a man whose position makes him both valuable and suspicious. Their relationship begins in a place where honesty is nearly impossible. Every conversation could be a test. Every glance could expose a secret. Every feeling could become a weakness.

That is what makes the romance so compelling. Ga Kyung and Tae Woong are not meeting in a safe, ordinary world. They are meeting inside enemy territory, surrounded by lies, surveillance, and divided loyalties.

Release Date: When and Where to Watch 100 Days of Lies

100 Days of Lies premieres on October 10, 2026, on tvN. The drama will stream on TVING in Korea. An international streaming platform has not been confirmed in the teaser yet.

With its stylish visuals, high-stakes mission, strong cast, and emotionally dangerous romance, 100 Days of Lies already looks like one of tvN’s most exciting upcoming dramas. The first teaser does exactly what a great preview should do: it reveals just enough to spark questions, then leaves viewers wanting more.
