Kim Tae-ri and Son Suk-ku are finally acting together! Directed by Koo Kyo-hwan, the duo stars in the 22nd Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival trailer.
The pairing we never knew we needed—until we absolutely did—is finally happening. Kim Tae-ri and Son Suk-ku, two of the most magnetic actors in the industry today, are officially teaming up for a project that has “instant classic” written all over it.
The duo has been selected to lead the official trailer for the 22nd Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival. While they previously sparked major chemistry in a 2023 advertisement, this marks the first time they will actually act together in a narrative work.
If that wasn’t enough to get you excited, the person behind the camera is none other than actor-director Koo Kyo-hwan. Known for his quirky, high-energy style, Koo is expected to bring a unique visual flair to this year’s promotional film.
The festival organizers are keeping the plot under lock and key, but they’ve teased a “strong concept” that will fully utilize the intense acting skills of both stars. Given the festival’s history of cinematic excellence, expectations are through the roof.

Kim Tae-ri is currently delighting fans in the variety show After-school Teacher Taeri, while Son Suk-ku is busy preparing for the release of his highly anticipated Netflix series Road. Seeing them pause their busy schedules for this short film trailer proves just how much weight the Mise-en-scène festival holds in the industry.
The festival is set to run from June 18 to 23, 2026, and the trailer is expected to drop any day now. Last year’s trailer featuring Kim Go-eun went viral, but with this power-trio involved, 2026 is looking to set a brand-new record.
